Your EPF may now follow you automatically
One of the easiest assumptions to make after changing jobs is that your EPF will automatically follow you. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn't.
The difference often comes down to details that most people never think about.
I have seen people discover months later that their old PF balance never moved simply because an exit date wasn't updated or their KYC wasn't complete. Nothing looked wrong from the outside, but the process had quietly stopped.
The good news is that EPFO now enables automatic transfers for eligible employees. But it still expects your records to be in order. Your Aadhaar linkage, UAN, KYC and employment details all need to match before the transfer happens.
If you have changed jobs recently, don't assume everything is already taken care of. Spend five minutes this week checking your EPFO service history. It's much easier to correct a small mismatch now than untangle it months later.
