You Haven't Started Yet. Read This First.

While discussing with entrants in corporate world after passing graduation, common question,"I have not started investing yet, is it too late?"
My honest reply, No, it's not too late. Though the “cost” of waiting is real and it compounds just like money does.
Very unique thing about Warren Buffett, we all have heard about him. He started investing at age of 11 & nearly 99% of his wealth came after he turned 50. Not because he started early but because he never stopped. The engine was time, the runway, not timing.
We are NOT Mr. Buffett. But the lesson hits hard. A 5-year delay in starting a SIP doesn't just cost you 5 years of returns. It costs you the compounding on those returns, and the compounding on that compounding. Hope you get this. Quietly, invisibly, for decades.
The relatives with whom I have spoken to who regret their financial journey, almost none of them say they picked the wrong fund, wrong asset. Most said the same thing, I wish I had just started earlier.
We don't need the perfect fund, perfect amount. We need to begin.
Nobody has ever built a time machine. But a SIP is the closest thing to one. This week, just begin, your future self will thank you.
