You Always Wanted Real Estate. Now ₹100 Is Enough.

You Always Wanted Real Estate. Now ₹100 Is Enough.

Something interesting happened lately in the mutual fund’s world, this would be a worth chai conversation 😊

Over the past decades, the real estate meant one thing in India. Save your money, take a loan, buy a flat, deal with tenants, maintenance, paperwork, and hope the locality appreciates as the time passes. Commercial real estate office parks, shopping malls, Grade A buildings leased to top IT MNC companies that was always out of reach for common man. You needed crores just to enter that Investing room.

This is now changing, yes it is.

Edelweiss has launched India's first REIT-based index fund. Starting August 5, you can invest in a fund which holds a basket of listed REITs and real estate companies - office towers, malls, warehouses through a simple SIP. Minimum investment? ₹100.

The underlying assets have already distributed over ₹31,700 crore to investors since 2019. And only 13% of India's Grade A office space has been listed as REITs so far, so there could be significant room ahead.

This is not a substitute for buying a home. It's something different, commercial real estate, diversified, liquid, no landlord headaches.

Worth knowing about. NFO closes August 19.
