Markets Fell After You Invested, now…?

Markets Fell After You Invested, now…?

One of my friends called me last week, little worried. He finally started investing, and within days the market slipped. He asked why markets slipped - "Did I get the timing all wrong?"

I can sense that feeling. You take time to think & decide, gather courage to begin, and the screen turns red immediately. It can feel personal as if the market was waiting for you.

But a fall right after you invest is not a verdict on your decision. It is simply timing, something none of us can control perfectly.

It is a little like planting a sapling and seeing heavy rain that very night. You did not plant it wrong. That is just weather.

What matters is not the first week. It is what happens over the years ahead. The real mistake is not starting at the “wrong” moment.

It is allowing one difficult week to decide whether you continue. Agree?
